Jerry Sandusky wants sex abuse charges dismissed, asks for later trial
JEFF FRANTZ, The Patriot-News Thursday, March 22, 2012.
Jerry Sandusky’s attorney has asked a judge to dismiss the child sex abuse charges against the former Penn State coach.

.In a motion filed Thursday, Joe Amendola said the charges against his client are not specific enough, because they do not include the detailed time frame required to provide a defense for Sandusky.

Amendola also said the state Attorney General has not provided enough evidence to proceed to trial with charges relating to alleged Victim 2, Victim 6 and Victim 8.

While asserting Sandusky’s innocence, Amendola said the charges involving eight of the 10 alleged victims would have fallen outside the statute of limitations.
Amendola again asked Judge John Cleland to force prosecutors to turn over more information about their investigation into Sandusky.

Because of the large amount of evidence to research and witnesses being unavailable, Amendola requested to push the start of the trial back from the currently scheduled May 14.

During jury selection, Amendola wants to be able to question witnesses one at a time, without other jurors being present. He also wants the jurors to be sequestered during trial.
