I am in the midst  of watching the anti-internet asifa.....you guessed right., I am watching it streaming online.
There are over 4,000 people watching it together with me. We cant understand much for several reasons; the Rabbi who is talking is ill so his voice is very weak and scratchy. Also the language spoken is in Yiddish which personally I dont understand (which is why thank-Gd I have never had the pleasure of talking to my father in law - he has been in this country for about 60 years now- and doesn't speak a word of English!)

I feel bad for my own boys who were bused to the Asifa. After the initial excitement  at being in citi field, they are most likely bored out of their minds. I cant imagine what it must be like to sit and stare at an empty green field and listen to words that don't have much meaning- poor boys. (if they have good imaginations maybe they can conjure up a baseball game!)

I am still feeling  angry, and I appreciate those of you who took the time to comment and validate my experience of feeling anger for the first time in m y life. It is not a comfortable feeling, and I am even beginning to have some understanding of how torturous it must be for my husband and his father and brothers to experience a constant feeling of rage inside themselves.

I have been following some comments that have been made on a listerve for orthodox mental health professionals and I am horrified to note how very many of them do not understand the sexual abuse cover ups in our community and some have even gone far enough to comment that Weberman deserves to have his family and community support him and raise money for his legal fees. Not one therapist mentioned that the victims deserve the same treatment!

I feel sad and a little hopeless.
If our mental health professionals  refuse to support us, then who will?
It looks as though we will have to rely on the New York Times......??
